Things I Like: Hiking in the Rocky Mountains, meeting new people, coffee ice cream, people who set goals and work hard to accomplish them, running, and conversations with my kids.

Not So Much: Leftovers, driving next to semi-trucks, putting off until tomorrow what could be done today, missing a workout, T.V., and the idea of being an empty-nester.

 Meet Kari Harger

I am a Colorado native, born and raised in Broomfield. Being the youngest of seven I was always ready to grow up and run with the older kids. My parents taught us that hard work and effort pays off and to never bend your ethics and morals to get something done. The right thing is always the right thing no matter how hard it seems in the moment. I continue to live my life with that same thought process today. I met Shawn in high school and later joined him at Colorado State University. After we married we made the decision to make Fort Collins home and raise our family here. What a great choice! We have four beautiful children, Cole, Garrett, Kylie, and Louden.

My faith and family are the two most important things to me. Once a week we have family night with pizza, a movie, and dessert on the family room floor. Every month we make the drive to Denver and share a meal with my siblings and their families. My favorite day of the whole year is taking the family to Estes Park in the Fall to watch the elk. We visit main street, buy a special treat, and walk the golf course with the elk. I tell my kids no matter where they are in the world every year they are required to come back for our annual trip to Estes.

​We have found so much joy in this great community. One of my favorite experiences has been coaching all four of my kids in youth basketball. Our kids have been able to grow up in a great city with so much to offer. They keep us busy bouncing around town but I wouldn’t want it any other way. I love being a parent and watching them grow into amazing young people.
